Writing at the Helin Temple
By Li She of Tang Dynasty
Translated by Yuntian
Drunk in dream after dream, I feel drowsy all day long
I force myself up the hill upon hearing spring's ending
Passing through the bamboo court, I talk with a monk
And steal half day's leisure in this life ever so floating

Autumn Thoughts to the Tune of Tian Jing Sha
By Ma Zhiyuan of Yuan Dynasty
Translated by Yuntian
Dry vines cling to an old tree; crows return at gloaming
Beneath a small bridge, by a cottage, a creek is flowing
Against west wind a bony horse on the ancient path is trudging.
As the setting sun in the west is sinking
At the end of the earth a heartbroken man is traveling.

Given on Parting
by Du Mu of Tang Dynasty
Tr: Yuntian
Though with feelings deep, little emotion we show
We simply can’t force smiles before the wine cup
Even heedful candles grieve over the parting so
Weeping each and every moment for us till sunup. |
