I think these are talking about web traffic and possible online ads clicks value. There are some companies register thousands domains. And use the easy tools such as wordpress to create "useful" web contents, such as "how to ...", which will catch up traffic and then ads clicks, due to they have thousands domains, they can link to each other and improve their web searching rank. These are legitimate approaches, and they are targeting the general public. But this approach will generate tons of duplicated information just to get a few clicks. Some day, the green planet will also include "no information pollution internet".
Also there are erotic sites etc. they are easy to catch the traffic but their ads may not be for general public. Also there are not so legitimate approaches, some "tricky companies" would hire people to use the tricky "platform" to visit the sites, and click the ads, to get the pay for per click. Due to these clicks are fake visit and click, the shops are not going to get any business but they have to pay google and other search engine for these clicks, and google etc. will have to pay these tricky companies for the clicks on the ads. If google finds out the tricks, they would shut them down in Google search, and may sue these companies, but these companies are usually already prepared for it. They may registered in some islands etc. And once shut down, they use a new name, a new web system and back to business again. These tricky companies not just get the money from these faking clicks, and they also ask the first deposit money (member join fee etc.) from the people who they "hire" to do these faking clicks. If you saw these spam said that you could join the club or company with a few hundreds dollars to a couple thousands dollars and sit in home click the mouse for a few hours at your own schedule and be your own boss, and make thousands dollars a month. More like it is for this kind web traffic generate company. |
