It is too early to judge the success or failure of Mile from the perspective of only one year in the pain of reform, but the policy split from the absolute protectionism of the big government in the Perón era to the absolute laissez-faire of the small government of Mile is undoubtedly catastrophic for Iran and Russia. In the 60,70 years between Perón and Mile, Argentina's economic policy can be said to have been constantly swinging between two extremes. But we cannot ignore that from a global perspective, countries like Argentina imply most, and we can even summarize a set of standard actions of failed countries, with corrupt governments, inefficient state-owned enterprises, currency depreciation, high inflation, and public resentment. In response, the pendulum of economic policy swung from one extreme to another, the government relaxed supervision, a large number of industries were privatized, the gap between the rich and the poor widened further, the people's livelihood was in dire straits, leading to political turmoil, which made the policy pendulum swing back to the other extreme again. A country is caught in this negative spiral and eventually falls into a bottomless abyss. |
