| I did win 10 upgrade on one HP, and two Lenovo. HP was win7, and Lonovos both had Win 8.1. It usually takes 2-3 hrs to download, verify and update everything. A few buttons to click to continue. Other than that, everything seems to work ok. Outlook, office 2013, firefox, Photoshop CS3 (which refused to work under Win7 and I had to use workaround to get it to start), dropbox, skype, Photoninja all worked as usual. This morning I had to reinstall VPN software because the win7 ones stopped working. It is best to go to your computer manufacturer's website to download win10 specific drivers. If the website lists driver as "win7, win 8.1 and win10" together, then presumably no need to reinstall. Reinstalling sound card drivers improved Lenovo's volume. {yes it will be free forever} [12/31] I tried to upgrade my SONY Vaio but it failed (C1900101-30018). sony recommends against upgrade also because no drivers yet for the laptop. My university recommends against Win 10 last time, so I will wait for my office computer. But so far I do not see any reason not to. Is it going to be free forever? (I know the free upgrade is till June 2016), but I am asking if there is an annual fee after 2016 for those who upgraded. I got the impression that was the case when it first came out. |
alsoRun: No annual fee whatsoever. So relax and enjoy Win 10.
